Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement
1. Overview and How We Define Modern Slavery
1.1 Slavery, forced labour, servitude, and human trafficking are forms of modern slavery – serious crimes that deprive victims of their liberty and exploit them for personal or commercial gain.
1.2 Contained Air Solutions (CAS) conducts business fairly, ethically, and with respect for human rights. We are committed to preventing modern slavery in all its forms, both in our own operations and throughout our supply chain. We will not tolerate it under any circumstances.
1.3 This policy applies to anyone working for or on behalf of CAS, including employees, directors, officers, contractors, agency workers, consultants, suppliers, and service providers.
1.4 Failure to comply with this policy may result in disciplinary action, including dismissal, termination of contract, and, where appropriate, legal proceedings.
1.5 This policy does not form part of any employment contract and may be updated at any time to reflect legislation and best practice.
2. Preventing Modern Slavery in Our Business
2.1 CAS carries out appropriate checks on all employees, recruitment agencies, and suppliers to ensure we know who is working for us or on our behalf.
2.2 Every employee receives a written contract of employment and is paid fairly and in accordance with UK law. We comply with all legal obligations relating to health and safety, working hours, rest breaks, and holiday entitlement.
2.3 We actively promote inclusion, equal opportunities, and fair treatment across our workforce.
2.4 Employees are encouraged to be vigilant and to report any suspicions of modern slavery. We recognise that exploitation is often “hidden in plain sight.” Examples of potential warning signs include:
• Multiple workers’ wages being paid into a single bank account.
• Staff being consistently dropped off and collected by the same driver.
• One individual always speaking on behalf of a group of workers.
• Workers appearing to have no personal money, identification, or bank account despite working long hours.
3. Our Supply Chain
3.1 CAS sources over 80% of our parts from suppliers within one hour of our facility, reducing exposure to high-risk regions.
3.2 We expect all suppliers to:
• Comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and relevant employment legislation.
• Commit to ensuring modern slavery is not present in their operations or supply chains.
• Demonstrate ethical practices through their own policies and processes.
3.3 We reserve the right to terminate relationships with suppliers who breach this policy or are found to tolerate modern slavery in any part of their operations or supply chain.
4. Reporting Concerns
4.1 Any employee, worker, or supplier must immediately report suspicions of modern slavery within CAS or our supply chains to their line manager.
4.2 All concerns will be investigated promptly and reported to the CAS Board of Directors.
4.3 Individuals will not face any detrimental treatment for raising concerns in good faith, even if those concerns prove to be unfounded. Protection is also available under CAS’s grievance and whistleblowing policies.
5. Governance & Review
This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure ongoing compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and evolving best practice.
